A socialite known for her exquisite sense of style, Siwangi Pradhan knew she wanted to channel her creativity into the world of fashion. From an early age, Pradhan would often give fashion advice to friends. Today, Pradhan is hugely popular for her meticulously crafted ethnic wear.

Early Career

Fashion designer Siwangi Pradhan was born on September 1, 1993, in Kathmandu Nepal. Born in a Newar family, she grew up experiencing the rich culture and heritage of the city of temples. Even when she was just a kid, Pradhan would always make an effort to look different than the others–she would style her clothes in a unique way and often offered words of advice on styling to her loved ones and friends.

Pradhan would often document her look in social media. She eventually garnered an impressive fan base and became hugely popular amongst the youth who would look up to her for style inspiration. Pradhan decided that she wanted to take her career up a notch by establishing herself as a fashion designer.

Foray into Fashion Designing

Pradhan aimed to create a sophisticated fashion brand that would speak to the women of today. Her beginnings were pretty humble, and she conducted her first ever workshop from a garage. As she toiled hard to become an accomplished fashion designer, Pradhan went on to open her first boutique in Tangal, the heart of Kathmandu. Her designs instantly became the talk of the town, garnering a loyal customer base who admired her artistry.

Initially known as “Si Designs,” Pradhan’s boutique attracted celebrities and socialites from across the country. Her designs showcased a harmonious blend of culture and contemporary essentials, a quality that has now become synonymous with her label. “How you dress weaves a story of who you truly are. It gives you the ability to speak to the world without having to talk,” says the designer who believes that self-expression through fashion is profoundly empowering.

Pradhan has been a part of numerous fashion shows in and out of her country. In September 2016, she became a part of the “World Fashion Parade” held on Gotham Hall, New York, Manhattan. A year later, she took part in the “Sense of Click Fashion Show” in Hongkong. In May 2019, ​her creations graced the red carpet of the “Cannes Film Festival” during Nepal’s debut in the same. Every year, celebrities and models flaunt Pradhan’s designs during the TGIF Nepal Fashion Week, which is the most popular fashion show in Nepal.
